Also, this week we are offering 20% off steaks... who doesn't want a fresh organic steak on the grill for dinner this summer???

While we are going to allow our members the option to have cheese delivered weekly with their CSA box, members are only going to have the option to have meat delivered MONTHLY. Since meat will only be delivered monthly, we are providing a list of dates for these deliveries to make it easier for our members. Dates for meat deliveries will be:
June 22 (PA) and June 23 (DC)
July 20 (PA) and July 21 (DC)
August 17 (PA) and August 18 (DC)
September 14 (PA) and September 15 (DC)
October 12 (PA) and October 13 (DC)
Note that the most up-to-date info on what meat is available, what the prices are, when they can be ordered, and when they will be delivered will always be on our Order Meat page (the store is now "closed" but will be open the 1st week of June).

Also note that we have just updated the meat info on our Product Descriptions and Prices pages, so please visit them for more info on what types of meat we plan to offer and prices!

Earth Spring Farm will be making its Washington, DC, farmers market debut this Saturday at the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market.  Stop by the market from 9-1 and say hi to farmer Luke.

Don’t forget to pick up some of our delicious radishes, scallions, herbs, and watercress.  I have been eating the radishes and scallions before a meal by spreading some good butter on them and sprinkling with good sea salt: A french inspired crudités.   You can also thinly slice radishes and place on a buttered piece of crusty bread- just like the French. Our herbal edible bouquets (chives with flowers and chocolate mint) make a great aural centerpiece, and our watercress is perfect for a chilled watercress soup. We will have lots of recipe cards at our table at market.

Planting your own little patch of green in the city?  Be sure to pick up some of our heirloom organic starter plants:  Cherokee purple, sun gold , Valley Girl, Yellow pear and black Krim tomatoes as well as cucumbers .

Besides, we like to put a face to our CSA customers so come by and introduce yourself!

We also still have room in our CSA, but it is filling up quickly:  Get your friends to sign up online for deliveries of local organically grown produce delivered to crestwood each week. http://www.earthspringcsa.com/members

Hope to see you there!

Mike and Diem welcomed their little daughter into the world on May 7th. Sage is excited to be a big sister!

April brought us 7 in. above normal rain, and May has been quite wet too. The water table has been so high that the water is taking considerable time to soak into the ground. It's been tough at times to get equipment into the mushy fields, and with some of the hard rains (1 day last month we had 5 inches in 1 day!) have completely washed away acres of seedings. Such is the life of a farm when you are working wth Mother Nature...

Because things are a little behind, we are pushing the start day of CSA deliveries back 1 week, and will extend the season by 1 week at the end.... thanks for your understanding!

1st day of PA deliveries: Wed., June 15th
1st day of MD/DC deliveries: Thurs., June 16th

Last day of PA deliveries: Wed., October 26th
Last day of MD/DC deliveries: Thurs., October 27th
